In Mainz Werner & Mertz produces laundry detergent and household cleaners; in Hallein in Austria small series and special products are manufactured. Both locations have state-of-the-art facilities at their disposal. They allow us to respond economically and ecologically efficiently to customer needs. This flexibility is made possible by short distances and optimised processes. Up to 10,000 cans, tubes, bottles or canisters can be filled every hour.
The company Alpla ensures rapid replenishment of packaging supplies. Since 1996 the packaging manufacturer has been producing plastic containers directly on our premises. As a result there are around 1,500 less HGV trips every year, which means relief for the environment to the tune of about 900,000 HGV kilometres or roughly 560,000 miles a year. As a result about 570 tonnes of CO2/a are avoided and 220,000 litres of diesel saved.
Total Quality Management
A short, smooth path from supplier to manufacturer and retailer to customer is a crucial factor for the success of the company: for this reason Werner & Mertz relies on management tools across the entire value chain together with Total Quality Management (TQM).
The quality management of product development and product supply is certified to ISO 9001. ISO 9001 is a globally recognised standard to demonstrate an established quality management system. To obtain the certificate, quality management must comply with eight specified principles.
