Learning exciting things: training at Werner & Mertz
Longstanding Mainz-based company Werner & Mertz presented its eight interesting training occupations at BIM Rheinhessen, the careers information fair organised at Mainz University of Applied Sciences by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Trade. School pupils and other visitors were provided with answers to all of their most pressing questions by the company’s current trainers and trainees. At the same time, they found out about the individual training occupations, course content, requirements and career prospects.
“We want young people to feel well informed and confident when choosing a profession. After all, it may be with them for the rest of their lives,” says CEO Reinhard Schneider. “For us, providing talented junior members of staff with sound training is an important component in the future development of our company. Our trainees should feel good when they are with us and be encouraged to develop both from a subject-specific and a social perspective.”
For this reason, elements such as in-house instruction and practical training in small teams for technical professions, a personal laptop for commercial trainees and participation in further seminar programmes are part of the in-house standard for everyone. Werner & Mertz currently offers training in the professions of chemical technician, electronics technician for automation technology, industrial clerk, media designer, information technology officer, mechatronics technician, warehouse operator and warehouse logistics specialist as well as industrial mechanic.
