Training Information Up Close and Personal
The family-owned company Werner & Mertz of Mainz presented its training program at the Rheinhessen Career Information Fair (BIM Rheinhessen) in the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz on 9th and 10th. Many pupils, their parents and teachers crowded around the job fair stand to gather information about the many different training opportunities at Werner & Mertz.
Trainees from eight different occupations and their trainers presented each of the jobs requiring training along with training content, requirements and career prospects. Several young visitors to the fair used the opportunity to strike up conversations with current trainees.
Werner & Mertz GmbH has taken part in the BIM for several years. "The job fair is a good chance for us to meet up with young people from the region," said business administration trainer Katrin Schönbrodt. The personal conversations between trainees and potential trainees proved to be especially popular.
"We want to be sure that young people are well informed and certain when they choose their occupations. After all, their decisions can shape their lives," said Reinhard Schneider, managing partner of Werner & Mertz GmbH.
Besides telling potential trainees about opportunities at Werner & Mertz, the current trainees presented a sorting facility that they had constructed as part of their training for industrial trades. Still another premiere was celebrated at BIM where Werner & Mertz presented its new trade fair stand.
Werner & Mertz will take on a new group of trainees on 1 August 2017 for training in the following professions: chemical technicians, chemical production specialists, industrial clerks, IT specialists, mechatronics technicians, industrial mechanics, warehouse and warehouse logistics specialists.
The BIM Rheinhessen was put on by the Rheinhessen Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Rheinhessen Chamber of Trades and mainzplus CITYMARKETING GmbH.
