BIM: Advice from contemporaries

26-Aug-2019 - Mainz - Company-News

More than 120 exhibitors and of course the Frosch took part once again in BIM Rheinhessen, the largest career information fair for vocational training and academic studies in the Mainz region. Werner & Mertz presented the broad range of occupations for which the company provides training. Special focus was on the training positions the Mainz family-run company is offering in 2020.

Many visitors stopped by the Werner & Mertz booth during the two-day fair held in the Mainz Rheingoldhalle. There the trainers and trainees informed potential applicants about the highly varied training options at Frosch. The young visitors were happy for the chance to talk to the trainees who were about their age.
But it wasn't only advice and conversation that attracted people to the booth. The trainees at Werner & Mertz had dreamt up and organized some games and activities. With a prize wheel as a lure, commercial trainees pulled in visitors to answer questions about Werner & Mertz and, if they were right, they could take home a prize. Fair visitors also were invited to test their knowledge by the technical trainees, who showed off their skills with a brain teaser game they had developed on their own.

"The BIM is a fixed appointment in our calendar and we are always happy to take part," said the commercial trainer Selina Friedrich. A highly varied public is drawn to the BIM, where there's a good opportunity to have direct contact with young people. "Here we show what we can do and the visitors show us what they expect from a training program."

The future trainees at Werner & Mertz expect a practical and project-driven training program in which the focus is not just on learning but also on having fun.
For 2020 applications are being accepted for the following seven occupations at Werner & Mertz: warehouse clerk and logistics specialist, industrial clerk, IT specialist, industrial industrial mechanic, machine and equipment operator, mechatronics technician and chemical production specialist. Training begins on 1 August 2020. The family-owned company in Mainz has 17 training spots to fill for the coming year.

The BIM Rheinhessen is put on by the Rheinhessen Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Rheinhessen Chamber of Trades and mainzplus CITYMARKETING GmbH.
