Werner & Mertz donates cleaning and hygiene products to the parent organization Tafel

Important support for the Tafeln in Germany

The cleaning products manufacturer Werner & Mertz of Mainz supports the important work of the Tafel association in Germany and has donated about 140 pallets of its Frosch brand sustainable cleaning products, dishwashing detergents and shower gels to the parent organization Tafel e.V. Additional support comes from the national logistics commpany Spedition Schmelzer, which donates its transport services for deliveries to Tafel locations throughout Germany.

“Social engagement is an essential part of the Werner & Mertz corporate philosophy,” says Julia Haag, Planning Manager at Erdal-Rex, the German sales company of Werner & Mertz, which coordinated the donation. “For me it is truly a matter of the heart. I am grateful that management and Spedition Schmelzer have made possible the donations to the Tafel for many years.”

The Tafel association helps disadvantaged people. More than ever, the volunteers rely on outside support. Given the corona pandemic, the war in Ukraine and rising inflation, current demand is very high for food and other products. Since the beginning of the year, however, fewer donations have been received. Consequently, the charitable association reports on the new level of need they are facing.

The nationwide donation includes the Mainz Tafel. Regional support is of special concern for the family business based in Rhineland-Palatinate.
