Werner & Mertz is a finalist for the German Sustainability Award!

Mainz eco pioneer is among the companies leading the transformation in the detergents and cleaning products sector

The medium-sized family-run Werner & Mertz has reached the finals of the German Sustainability Award alongside two large businesses.

The award honors companies from 100 different industries that contribute to effective transformation in their sectors. A specialist jury of five experts for each industry determines the winner. Werner & Mertz prevailed over numerous competitors in a multi-step process and was named a finalist with Henkel and Procter & Gamble in the sector Furniture, Household and Consumer Goods in the category Detergents and Cleaning Products.

The Mainz company is considered a pioneer for recyclable products and is the world leader in using plastic material obtained from the Yellow Bag household waste collection system.

The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony for the German Sustainability Award in Düsseldorf on 28 November.
